Choosing the Right Mode for Your Routine

Standard mode use case

  • Best for frequent use and quick readiness expectations. Standard mode keeps water closer to soaking temperature throughout the day.
  • Higher standby cost, better convenience. You trade some efficiency for faster, more predictable soak availability.

Economy mode use case

  • Best for predictable use windows and lower idle cost. Economy mode reduces heating activity during off-hours.
  • May require planning warm-up time before soaking. Schedule preheat so water is ready when you want to use it.

Mode Names and Behavior Change by Brand and Control Pack

Economy and standard are common labels, but plenty of tubs use other terms like sleep, rest, ready, ready-in-rest, or custom schedules. The name matters less than how your specific controller actually decides when to heat and filter.

  • One brand’s economy mode can behave very differently from another’s, especially when filtration cycles, circulation pumps, and freeze protection are layered in.
  • If your spa needs to be ready on short notice, the cheapest mode is not always the most practical one.
  • If you are not sure what your control pack is doing, contact us for specifics before changing modes and assuming you will get the same behavior shown in a generic video.
