Hot Tub Site Preparation Checklist
A practical pre-install checklist to make delivery day smooth and reduce setup issues.
Site Preparation Checklist Before Delivery
Pad and ground prep
- Choose a stable, level base with proper load support. A solid base helps protect shell alignment and long-term spa performance.
- Confirm drainage path away from home foundation. Good drainage lowers slip risk and protects nearby structures.
- Measure final dimensions including cover movement space. Extra clearance planning prevents costly repositioning later.
Access and utility prep
- Measure gate openings and turning clearances. Delivery path checks reduce delays and crane surprises on install day.
- Clear delivery route of furniture and obstacles. A clean path helps crews move safely and protect your property.
- Confirm electrical planning is scheduled and documented. Utility readiness keeps startup and inspection on track.

Site Preparation Is Always Model Specific
Site prep changes with the tub. Final footprint, cover-lifter swing, electrical entry location, filled weight, and delivery-path requirements all vary from model to model.
- Measure for the actual spa plus steps, cover movement, and service-side access instead of measuring only the cabinet shell.
- If your path includes narrow gates, retaining walls, steep turns, stairs, or a possible crane lift, contact us before delivery day so the route can be reviewed early.
- If permits, HOA approvals, or local electrical inspections may apply, confirm them before the spa is en route rather than during the final week.
